Working as a Healthcare Assistant can be challenging however it is an extremely rewarding career as you help comfort vulnerable adults in their time of need.

We work with nursing homes and care homes the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire & Worcestershire to ensure that they are always fully staffed. In those nursing homes and care homes you would be caring for and supporting people who live with; Dementia, Mental Health Conditions, Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Challenging Behaviours plus more.


**The responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant include but are not limited to;**
- Personal Care for male and female residents; this includes toileting, bathing, changing incontinence pads, oral care, nail care etc.
- Using manual handling equipment correctly and safely e.g. hoists, wheelchairs, slide sheets
- Providing emotional & physical support to all residents
- Completing documentation such as; forms, reports & care plans
- Light house-keeping duties; making/changing beds, tidying up, mopping, sweeping, polishing, laundry etc.
- Engaging with the residents and encouraging them to take part in the home’s activities.
- Performing all duties and responsibilities with a person centred approach

Our unique ‘Introduction To Care’ training course takes place over 10 days and will costs £40 to attend. During this training you will learn how to perform all of the daily duties, how to use all of the equipment safely & efficiently, how to follow UK policies and procedures, how to engage with vulnerable adults & how to adapt your personal skills into a care role.


During week 1 on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday you will come to our Head Office in Wolverhampton City Centre 9am-5pm to complete classroom based theory & practical learning. Thursday & Friday are 8am-8pm shadow shifts at a local nursing home to you where you will be partnered with an experienced carer who will watch you, guide you & support you through the day as you practise performing everything you learnt over your first 3 days. It extremely important that on the shadow shifts you are energetic, pro-active and ask lots of questions.


During week 2 of training you will come to our Head Office on Monday 9am-5pm for a refresher day of training getting even more practise on how to be a Healthcare Assistant and supporting others in the group. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday are 8am-8pm shadow shifts at a different nursing home so you can experience caring for a variety of different people. It extremely important that on the shadow shifts you are energetic, pro-active and ask lots of questions. Friday is 9am-5pm at our Head Office for written & practical assessments.


Once you have passed the assessments you will be signed off as a qualified and competent Healthcare Assistant and you will be offered paid care work immediately
