Sheffield, United Kingdom University of Sheffield Full time

The Design, Trials and Statistics section in the Division of Population Health based in the School of Medicine and Population Health is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant in Medical Statistics who has a passion for statistics (and applied research) and a willingness to share their passion, enthusiasm and knowledge with others. The post will be based within the Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU) and will involve working day-to-day with colleagues within the Medical Statistics Group and with researchers involved in our portfolio of clinical studies. You will also contribute to the research portfolio in the Sheffield Centre for Health and Research, building on your background and interests and be expected to be involved in other Medical Statistics Group activities which include teaching statistics.

You will have good knowledge of applied statistics and basic statistical theory, be keen and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn, be inquisitive, flexible and able to adapt to change.

With exceptional interpersonal skills you will communicate effectively with others in the team, including non-statisticians, establishing good working relationships.

The post would suit a recent graduate or someone expecting to graduate from their Master’s degree in statistics in the autumn of 2024.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
