We are currently looking for a Coatings Manufacturing Operator Team Leader to join us at our facility in Wellingborough, UK.
The purpose of this role is to manage the delivery of coatings manufacture targets on shift. Supplying coatings & aerosol filling departments with product to the planned schedule. Improving performance in terms of Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 4 operators utilising paint mixing vessels and associated equipment.
- Reviewing the works order plan, ensuring staff are actively following.
- Lead daily Tier 1 meetings on Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery
- Operating mixing equipment and batch manufacturing in shift
- Record, monitor and calculate performance vs target in terms of adherence to plan, batch cycle time, staff and waste.
- Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping within a chemical environment.
- Actively participate and take a lead role in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities
- Ability to develop or create standard operating procedures and undertake associated risk assessments for the department.
- Challenges personal performance and develops own skills and supports the team to consistently strive for improved results.
- Undertakes cycle counting for high value raw materials against an agreed schedule.
- Conducts return to work meetings and investigations as required.
- Liaises with the quality control department to ensure right first time KPI’s are met.
Key requirements:
- 3 years’ experience in leading manufacturing teams - Essential
- Comfortable setting standards, challenging the status quo, and driving towards excellence - Essential.
- Ideally a qualification in maths and English - must be competent in numeracy to read and understand numbers, batch cards, interpret and manipulate data where required.
- Competency in interpreting data in business systems and entering key performance data.
- Willingness to drive a forklift truck - Full training provided.
- Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills to work with colleagues to achieve individual and team targets.
- Desire to champion the company values.
- Logical problem-solving skills and the ability to lead problem solving activity.
