We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
With an annual revenue budget of c £4.2 billion and a capital budget of £90m this represents c24% of the overall Health spend in Scotland.
It is a very exciting time to be joining the largest NHS Board in Scotland as we implement our transformational healthcare strategy, ‘Moving Forward Together’, which is underway to ensure delivery of better health and healthcare outcomes for the population of Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
We are seeking to appoint a new **Head of Finance - Family Health Services (FHS) and Prescribing **who will be responsible for the strategic and operational accountability for this key role.
The Head of Finance (HOF) will lead the development and implementation of robust financial frameworks for Family Health Services & Prescribing in line with the corporate strategy and key performance targets to achieve the effective and efficient utilisation of resources and strongly influence financial balance. Ensure achievement of value for money without compromising the quality of patient care.
The post holder will be the prime and expert source for financial information, guidance and advice to the Integrated Joint Board (IJB) Chief Financial Officer's, Head of Finance Management Accounts, Assistant Director of Finance and the Director of Primary Care on all financial management and financial planning matters for Family Health Services & Prescribing. This support will be provided in a time critical manner. The post holder has to plan prescribing budgets a year in advance, taking into account a number of variables such as pricing, volumes, patient flow and volatility.
You will be a qualified accountant with a recognised Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB), with demonstrable experience in a Senior Finance Manager role including significant budgetary responsibility and expert in the delivery of a quality finance service with a broad range of practical experience in the provision of a modern financial management service, including performance management, project management and strategic financial planning and staff management
