**Children and Young Persons Domestic Abuse Advocate**

**Location: Based in Dorchester but covering Dorset County**

**Salary: £27,664 FTE pa (Pro rata £20,748 for 30 hours)**

**Contract Type: 30 Hours per week, Temporary contract until 31/03/2025**

**YOU **is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

**Essential Requirements**:
The appointed CYPDAA will have:
**1. **I work and support the Paragon team to deliver the service in line with the service specification, KPIs and **YOU** processes, policies and procedures

**2. **I will work alongside schools and youth groups to implement and embed the mentors in violence prevention programme.

**3. **I hold a case load of clients and will co-produce full risk assessments with the client and ensure their needs and circumstances are reflected within all safety and support plans,

**4. **You will have worked with children and/or young people and will understand their development phases and know how to deliver age appropriate sessions to maximise impact and engagement.

**5. **I will be innovative in my practice and ensure I offer a safe service for those engaged with the project

**6. **I will provide support and education to enable the CYP’s to understand the impact of DVA and other harmful behaviours.

**The Role**:
Paragon Children and Young Person’s Domestic Abuse Advocates are part of a specialist team providing practical and emotional support to individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse across Dorset.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to support the development of this service to deliver evidenced based and researched support for children and young people who are experiencing and/or instigating domestic abuse and harmful behaviours.

You will be skilled and experienced at engagement, able to develop and deliver individual one to one sessions and group work, work in partnership with colleagues to ensure a whole family approach and take a lead role where necessary.

This successful applicant will work in schools and colleges and in the community providing support as well as coordinating and delivering the Mentors in Violence Protection Programme which includes the training of teaching staff and student mentors.
