Automotive Service Advisor

Our client is a well-known and reputable HGV dealership with several depots across Midlands and North of England. Currently they are looking for an experienced Service Advisor / Automotive Service Advisor / HGV Service Advisor to join their busy depot in Stockton.
**The Workshop Controller Role**:
- To maximise profitability of workshop.
- To encourage feedback on services provided and recognise the changing needs of the service, and make recommendations to the Service Manager for service improvement.
- To oversee the smooth running of Service Reception and provide technical and procedural back up as and when required
- All job cards to be pre-timed and advised to the fitter prior to starting each job
- Upon completion of job, WC must check hours booked against time allowed. It is your responsibility to ensure all time booked is accounted for to maximise revenue; any shortfalls must be reported to Service Manager.
- Ensure all KPI’s are achieved on every job.
- Prioritise and organise work patterns to clear oldest jobs first, keeping any backlog to a minimum.
- Constantly monitor fitter performance on jobs, ensure job card write ups are completed as you go so job change over time is kept to a minimum.
- Ensure warranty and R & M financial authority limits are observed.
- Ensure WIP is kept to a minimum.
- Ensure workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times.
**Detailed Responsibilities**:
- Anticipate and plan parts requirements.
- Ensure that you conduct yourself in a business-like and professional manner.
- Plan, monitor and distribute work load.
- Plan and handover all work to the late shift.
- Check progress on the work you have issued.
- Ensure breakdown jobs are attended promptly; the fitter should be on route within 15 minutes.
- Ensure consumables are booked and accounted for.
- Carry out periodic quality control checks using DAF check
- Assist Service Manager to organise work rotas.
- Report any staff issues to the Service Manager and ensure accurate records of sickness and holiday absence are maintained.
- Ensure manufactures warranty policy and procedures are followed.
- Liaise with service reception on all bookings.
- Maximise retention of additional work through the use of challenger and follow ups.
- Ensure that any quotes created on Challenger are adhered to and updated when necessary.
- Take part in Service Reception Saturday rota.
- Work in conjunction with the service reception supervisor to plan workshop loading accordingly.
- Ensure correct MOT processes are followed.
- To observe Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- To undertake general administrative duties as and when necessary to ensure the smooth flow of work within the Customer Service Reception.
- To participate in the induction and training of new Service Reception Advisors to ensure a high level of up to date knowledge is maintained.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of this post as required.
