Core Responsibilities:

- To produce, underwrite and service predominantly UK-domiciled multinational Property accounts and to assist with property underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes, and related issues as necessary.
- Expanding the Property account in line with Everest appetites, controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, always maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery of internal plans
- To develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.
- To underwrite and price Property risks, using the appropriate tools and systems to analyse the exposure.
- Negotiate effectively with brokers to obtain the best possible deal for Everest.
- Adherence to the Property Underwriting guidelines and writing risks in accordance with their level of Underwriting Authority and/or making appropriate referrals, where required.
- Prepares quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business.
- Ensures that documentation is completed timely and accurately to ensure efficient service to the client/broker & to ensure data is completed in the internal systems
- Assists with the development and evolution of divisional pricing, accumulation and other systems as necessary.
- Assists Head of UK Property with Various Ad Hoc tasks as required.
- Effectively communicates with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed.
- Interacts and coordinates activities with other departments (e.g. Claims, Loss Control, and Accounting).
- Liaises with other lines of business as necessary.
- Recommends new procedures and programs where warranted.
- Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and / or carry out responsibilities and / or administrative activities.
- Understands Group appetite

Skills & Abilities
- Property Underwriting experience preferable but will consider someone considering moving into Property from a different Class of Business.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally.
- Maintains and develops market knowledge including competitor profiles and products.
- Ability to take calculated risks with favourable outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strategic skills - ability to determine opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends. Comprehends the big picture.
- Judgment and decision making skills - ability to use logic rationality and objectivity in decision making.
- Compliance - ability to ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls.
