This role helps ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery and line leadership in manufacturing, by leading a key line of the business (technical, system or organizational) to deliver results defined by the compelling business need of the site. You ensure that key business results are achieved and for developing others to ensure the sustained continuity of technical mastery on the manufacturing line. Using a systematic approach, you use strategic thinking skills to ensure results are sustained over the long term.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for performance & people on designated shift - SQCDM
- Responsible for morale, conduct & behaviour of shift team
- Ensure hourly, shift targets are met including volume, CTS & GE delivery
- Escalate safety, quality and production losses outside of shift according to escalation matrix
- Responsible for the safety of team, quality & food safety of products, working with their team and stakeholders to drive fundamental improvements
- Shift management through the daily management systems (DMS)1/2 on shift, key contributor to DMS3 escalating as appropriate
- Drive IL6S on shift through loss reduction and engagement, being accountable for AM step delivery for designated area.
- Facilitate SGAs on shift to drive improvements
- Supporting compliance to PM tasks
- Supporting the Senior Shift Lead, completing shift reports & handovers for designated area, setting next shift up for success
- Facilitate RCAs on shift for triggered losses, identifying and delivering/supporting preventative measures
- Work with day-based performance teams to drive long term improvements
- Line management of core employees for designated area, including capability building, performance management - 121’s, development plans etc.
- Own absence management including scheduling and hearing stage review meetings, ensuring RTW completed
- Ensure delivery of training to operators in allocated area to ensure cross site flexibility
- Workforce planning for defined area
- Working with trade union representatives to resolve challenging situations, building, and maintaining relationships.
- Handling and conducting investigations re compliance, ER and disciplinary hearings
- Organise, support, and deliver Line Briefings and other communications to drive engagement
- Develop and implement shift engagement improvement plans, measure through engagement survey
- Support internal & external audits while on shift - QP, FSA, SMETA, ISO50001 etc

**What you'll bring**:

- Proven track record of successfully managing & developing teams of people in a manufacturing environment
- Role model for conduct and behaviour - GMP, safety, professional conduct, integrity
- Effective communicator both verbal and written
- Ability to build and retain relationships at all levels and across all departments
- Understanding of IL6S, Lean Six Sigma or TPM and how to implement across the shifts
- Confident decision maker
- Ability to think on their feet
- Labour planning experience
- Presence to confidently take control of situations requiring decisions impacting production
- Experience of working with Trade Unions
- Previous experience of handling investigations and disciplinaries
- Experience of conducting RCA’s and implementing actions from findings
- Change management exp preferred.
