Medical Receptionist

We are a small, friendly practice with a growing patient list and team. We are looking for an approachable team player who can work independently, possesses strong IT skills (speed and accuracy), and has a working knowledge of medical terminology. Flexibility to cover holidays and absences is essential, along with a calm and caring demeanor.
Medical Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients, either face-to-face at reception or via telephone, handling patient inquiries. Responsibilities include:
- Meeting and greeting patients
- Telephone reception and message service
- Documentation management
- Making appointments on the computer
- Filing and scanning clinic letters
- Ensuring patient confidentiality at all times
- Updating records
- Liaising with patients and clinical team members
- Issuing repeat prescriptions
- Patient-related administrative tasks
Essential requirements:
- Previous reception and administrative experience
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Availability to work extra hours when needed
- Excellent IT skills
- Professional demeanor
- First-rate telephone manner
- Confidence in liaising with patients and clinical team members
- Highly organized
- Strong administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable:
- Previous GP Surgery reception experience
- Experience using SystmOne clinical system
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary will be dependent on experience
**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
