Highly Specialist Clinical/counselling

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new and innovative primary care hub consisting of Oxleas NHS Foundation trust and voluntary sector services offering a collaborative and holistic approach to preventing major mental health problems.
Psychological therapists will be developing, overseeing and evaluating psycho education /wellbeing programmes and evaluating these as well as advising primary care staff on complex cases

The postholder will supervise a team of assistant psychologists and work closely with NHS talking therapies service ,GPs and secondary care psychological therapies to ensure clients access appropriate interventions. Applicants with an interest in developing new ways of working and incorporating systemic ideas and models into clinical practice will be welcome
The post holder will be resilient, with a ‘can do’ attitude and have the skills, experience and personal qualities required to be able to manage the competing demands of building and maintaining the morale of staff whilst meeting the service’s targets for quality and activity.
The post holder will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision and support and join other senior clinicians within hub services in other boroughs.
Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. Our 4,300 members of staff work in many different settings including hospitals, clinics, prisons, secure hospitals, children’s centres, schools and people’s homes.
We have over 125 sites in a variety of locations in the South of England. In London we operate within the Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley Greenwich and into Kent. We manage hospital sites including Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup and Memorial Hospital, Woolwich, as well as the Bracton Centre, our medium secure unit for people with mental health needs. Key Task and Responsibilities
To lead on the development and implementation of psycho education programmes in the Greenwich mental health hub
To research and develop group psycho education programmes utilising NICE recommendations and other published guidance on mental health transformation
To be responsible for collecting outcome data and using this in evaluation of group programmes.
To use data and service user feedback to present to the Greenwich senior management team and other stakeholders.
The provision of supervision for assistant psychologists working in the mental health hub participating in the group programmes
The personal provision of consultancy, support, professional advice and clinical leadership to carers, other professions, and other agencies providing support for the client.
Maintenance of professional standards, codes of conduct and good clinical governance.
To work effectively with the Clinical Lead to promote the Greenwich Mental Health hub service
Good relationships with partner organizations including voluntary, non-statutory and private sector organisations.
Advises service management about psychological approaches and needs for service users.
Effective liaison and supervision for other staff who may in the future join the service.
To maintain professional accreditation with relevant professional body eg the BABCP, keep an updated CPD and reflective practice log and attend training to maintain skills and competencies as appropriate.
Management responsibilities
To plan and prioritise own caseload and time management.
To implement and maintain the Trusts’ policies and procedures
To participate as a senior clinician in the development of the service where
Clinical or operational matters need addressing.
To line manage and performance manage junior staff.
Leadership
To lead on the development and implementation of the psycho education group programmes in the mental health hub in line with national guidance.
To provide high quality supervision for Assistant Psychologists
