Personal Assistant to The Head of Department

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2025 in the first instance.
We are looking for a personable and effective Personal Assistant to work with the incoming Head of Department of Sociology Professor Hazem Kandil from 2 September 2024 - 31 July 2025 on a fixed term basis of 7.3 hours a week spread over three days, days of the week negotiable.
The role holder's main duties will be:
- Manage and co-ordinate diaries to ensure that the Professor Kandil's time is well ordered and prioritised
- Resolve conflicts in timing, and coordination of the diaries of senior internal and external individuals.
- Identify immediate daily priorities and ensure that timely action is taken and followed up
- Organising meetings if required, including venues and refreshments
The post is fixed term to 31 July 2025 (please note that the funding for this role has an end date of 31 July 2025 and the contract must finish by that date).
The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
