This is an exciting opportunity for a Matron within the planned care division. You will have responsibility for wards 7B Urology, 7A Vascular and the new Surgical Assessment Unit / Surgical SDEC. Ward 7A is the vascular networks designated ward and will include 6 high dependency beds.

You will also be expected to manage specific Clinical Nurse Specialist team as allocated within the division.

This exciting position involves supporting the Deputy Director of Nursing for Planned Care, you will be integral to the divisional management team. Ensuring nursing input into strategic and operational decisions and providing visible professional leadership to the surgical wards and the Planned Care Division.

This is a pivotal role in our senior management structure to drive forward innovative service change in partnership with the senior team.

You will provide expert professional leadership, informed, objective and pragmatic nursing advice to the ward team and the Divisional senior team, ensuring there are robust systems and monitoring in place to support all matters relating to patient care and experience.
