**The Company**
Symbiosis was created to address specific gaps highlighted in the sterile drug product manufacturing marketplace. The aim was to accelerate our clients’ drug development timelines by offering rapid access to sterile fill-finish manufacturing slots and productrelease services.
Symbiosis is a contract manufacturing organisation that specialises in the manufacture and sterile fill/finish of vials for clinical trials and low-volume commercial supply. Regulatory compliance, technical capability and operational flexibility are at itscore.
**The Role**
Due to continued success, Symbiosis is now seeking to add a Management Accountant to the small finance team. This role will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with the quality, production and commercial staff.
The Management Accountant will be a key function within the Finance Team. This is a hands-on role where you will be an integral and essential, valued member of this SME’s finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a successful and innovative SME in the life sciences manufacturing sector, with flat, open structure and some highly experienced business leaders to work with and learn from.
**Operational Effectiveness**
- Developing and preparing cost analysis and management reports for commercial contracts/projects for the management team, budget holders and board of directors to assist with key decision making.
- Analyse financial information for internal use, to assist future profitability and growth.
- Report on the performance in the company through selecting and measuring financial and non-financial performance indicators.
- Supporting in the preparation of management accounts and variance analyses.
- Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts.
- Recommending appropriate cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Working closely with internal sales teams to prepare fully costed quotations for profit maximisation.
- Contribute to annual company, department, and project budget process.
- Liaising with budget holders to understand and improve costings.
- Reconciliation of various cost reports against software systems to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations.
**Managing Relationships**
- Attend, participate, and contribute to regular staff meetings, as necessary
- Support (and deputise for) the Head of Finance as necessary.
- Invest in developing relationships with all staff to fully understand the needs of the team, in order that we collectively deliver to agreed standards and timescales.
- Invest in developing relationships with the management team to ensure we are a high performing team and Symbiosis’ services meet expectations.
- Act as an ambassador for the company.
- A professional accountancy qualification e.g. ICAS/ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent experience,
- Experience of manufacturing costings from an accounting or audit perspective,
- Strong communication skills,
- Self-driven, fast paced and bring value to every engagement,
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills and ability to drive issues to resolution,
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously,
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Accounting principles and practices
- Experience with ERP accounting systems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with cross-functional teams at all levels of staff and management.

This Management Accountant role is offered on a?permanent basis with a competitive salary of £45-50k and great benefits package.
