Assistant Psychologist

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Specialist Eating Disorders Service to support the FREED pathway. The team have significant success at enabling AP’s progress their career either by gaining access to clinical psychology training or clinical associate psychology roles. You will join a strong team of Psychologists including other assistant psychologists and a clinical associate psychologist.
You will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of duties, including participation in individual and group treatment programmes, administration of clinical assessments, compiling CPA reports for clients and attending MDT Reviews. There are also opportunities for research the team regularly present nationally and internationally. Regular clinical supervision and in-house training will be provided to assist your professional development.
You must have at least a good Honours degree ( high 2:1or above ) that confers the BPS Graduate Basis for Registration. Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist or in a caring role would be beneficial, as is experience of administering and interpreting psychometric assessments. You will be expected to work flexible hours when required, but there is the option to work from home during this period. You will also be expected to collate CQUIN data and produce reports under supervision and work closely with the Community Mental Health Teams.
To contribute to the provision of a specialist Assessment, support and treatment service for those in the early stages of an eating disorder under the supervision of the FREED coordinator and a Clinical Psychologist.
To offer support to other eating disorders staff. To assist managing referrals, assessments, formulations and interventions alongside other team members under the supervision of the FREED coordinator and a Clinical Psychologist within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
To contribute to the effectiveness of service delivery. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
To work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
