We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Therapy Assistant to join our new Children and Young People's Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) team. You'll be working alongside other clinicians within our new Community Team. This post is advertised as a full time post for a 12 month fixed term/secondment, but there is flexibility to be considered for Flexi hours if currently working for the Flexi Team, job share/part time hours. Priority will be given to those who meet the Essential Critieria.

Deliver pre planned Therapy interventions to children and young people with ARFID under the supervision of our ARFID Community Dietician.

Work as part of a multi disciplinary team who comprise Paediatrician, Clinical psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, psychiatrist and team clinical co ordinator.

Activities will include the setting up and running of parent groups, children’s groups, individual interventions, advice and target setting within settings/ home and developing ARFID resources and packages of care alongside the clinicians within the Team

ability to monitor progress, use outcomes monitoring tools and report.

**Proposed interview date**: 25th July

To support, alongside the CYP ARFID team, with the provision of therapy service for the treatment of ARFID.
- To independently manage, with support from the Community CYP ARFID Dietician, a caseload of children with and ARFID.
- To provide appropriate intervention as identified by the CYP ARFID MDT to young people and families, supporting them with their goals.
- To contribute to written reports
- To communicate information from assessment and provide advice to relatives, early years and school staff and other professionals on matters relating to ARFID.

Communicate with young people and their families in a way that they can understand what is being said and enable them to be able to make choices and decisions about the child’s care/their own care.

**To provide training and support to**:

- Parents and carers
- other professionals including early years and school staff
- Appropriate Voluntary Organisations, at local level
- Other mental health services, Paediatricians and Dieticians.
