Finance Officer

**RESPONSIBLE TO**

Operations Manager - Footprints in the Community

**BASED AT**

10 Queen Street, Redcar

**SALARY SCALE**

NICVA Scale 9 point 19 - £25,927 per annum, pro rata

**HOURS**

30 hours per week

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE**

To ensure the smooth and timely running of the Footprints in the Community finance on a day-to-day basis.

To ensure the organisation’s finances are administered efficiently and correctly, maintaining financial records and providing relevant statements, budgets and reports.

Prepare financial statements and reports as required by Trustees, HMRC, Charity Commission etc.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Balance, record and bank all income and allocate to appropriate project
- Calculate, set up and process routine accounting entries including purchase orders, invoices, petty cash, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other journal entries
- Check, process and record all payments of volunteer and staff expenses
- Prepare annual budget and present financial information, analyses and projections as required whilst monitoring monthly actual expenditure versus budget
- Prepare monthly reports and other data required for Trustees/CEO
- Prepare monthly income and expenditure accounts for individual projects, working with project leads to ensure efficient expenditure of charitable resources
- Prepare and maintain the organisations fixed asset register and record all fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals and calculation of depreciation
- Work with the CEO/Treasurer to process on-line payment of bills
- Work with the external company to process staff wages and manage tax and PAYE
- Manage VAT
- Work with the external auditor to ensure annual accounts are completed and submitted to the Charity Commission within set timescale

**Requirements**:

- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Be familiar with and adhere to the charity’s policies and procedures, and ensure that high standards of quality and good practice are maintained, developed and monitored.
- Undertake training as appropriate and attend regular supervision sessions with the CEO of Footprints in the Community.
- Have a flexible approach.
- Undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £25,927.00 per year
