Permanent role full time - office based

37.5-hour week, Mon-Fri between 07:00 - 19:00, flexibility on work hours essential. Earliest start 0700, latest finish 1900. 7.5 hour working day between these hours.

**Salary**: £24500-£37000 depending on experience plus very good company benefits.

**The role**:
To review and purchase inventory to meet business requirements. Liaise with suppliers and deliver a high-quality service level, ensuring on time deliveries.

**Duties / Responsibilities**:
Purchase inventory for stock and specific customer requirements

Utilise company pooling solutions, maintaining optimum inventory levels to support the business

Evaluate and recommend suppliers to quality and industry approved standards

Negotiate with Suppliers to obtain best price and terms

Issue purchase orders

Expedite open orders to achieve delivery requirements

Develop and maintain excellent supplier relationships

Co-ordinate with internal departments to ensure PO compliance

Assist with department training and interdepartmental training of new staff

Organise supplier meetings including occasional travel to supplier sites

Produce & analyse reports, help to monitor departmental KPI’s

Identify, monitor and liaise with non-performing suppliers

Monitor improvement measures with non-performing suppliers

Support the Purchasing Team Leader to undertake other duties /projects as required

Understand and adhere to Export Control regulations where relevant

**Competencies / experience required**:
Previous purchasing experience - preferably within the aviation trading sector or 3 years plus continuous experience within a purchasing role.

Essential A-levels A-C, a university degree or similar level qualification would be beneficial

Passion to develop in-depth knowledge and skills within the Purchasing department

Proactive, self-motivated and driven to succeed in a busy environment

Analytical thinker with strong problem solving ability

Excellent communication skills at all levels, verbal and written

Enjoy engaging with customers, suppliers and internal departments, ability to build excellent relationships

Good computer literacy, proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
