**Job Profile for Transport Manager**

Bennett and Game are currently working with Freight Transport company actively seeking a highly skilled General Transport Manager to join their Chesterfield location.

Our client hold a modern haulage fleet, containing a wide variety of vehicles that are suitable for almost all haulage requirements. Allowing them to carry out deliveries on behalf of many businesses in the UK. Due to continued growth they are looking fora self motivated individual to join their Chesterfield team.

**Transport ManagerPosition Overview**
- Be responsible to ensure that the business to complies with the requirements listed in the Operator's Licence and all legal requirements in respect of legislature
- Manage all day-to-day transport operations to constantly review all aspects of the business to drive efficiencies.
- Establish a strong relationship with the warehouse team to oversee the smooth running of activities between both departments
- Ensure that there is sufficient driving resource to deliver the transport plan on any given day ensuring that lines of communication form the planning team is effective
- Engage and maintain an approved source and supply of agency drivers, ensuring that any drivers engaged are fully aware of all CS2 requirements and are briefed accordingly
- Ensure company policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Manage and communicate all instances of incidents and accidents that are related to any CS2 Vehicles or Personnel
- Manage Vehicle cleaning and cab hygiene by utilising workforce and shunters
- Drive the investigation and resolution of all Customer Complaints and assist in the management of non-conformances
- Maintain all company requirements in relation to Food Safety Culture and company HACCP Plan
- Ensure that all the business needs are effectively communicated to all staff as necessary
- Investigate and allocate resource in all instances where damage has been reported to any company vehicle.
- Oversee the provision of equipment for load security and delivery, i.e. pump trucks, load lock bars and straps etc and to source as and when necessary

**Transport ManagerPosition Requirements**
- Ensure all security arrangements are being followed and the trailer park is secure and kept tidy. Trucks / Trailers are being parked correctly
- Liaise with the Transport Manager to ensure any defective vehicles are dealt with in accordance with the level of fault and that routine inspections and servicing is carried out
- Maintain a high level of awareness of warehouse activities and how that interacts with transport
- Carry out Driver Training and Appraisals as and when necessary
- Excellent written and communication skills

**Transport ManagerPosition Remuneration**
- Salary: £30k-£32k
- Monday - Friday
- 8am-6pm
