Operational Support Team Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a hugely skilled and experienced team ensuring efficient procurement, storage and distribution of aircraft material in addition to The workload and material planning function.

Working in the impressive and purpose-built Aircraft Maintenance facility located on Cardiff International Airport, responsible for team with a material spend budget of circa £15m, for storage and distribution of £20m of aircraft material, planning of workload and material usage and an integral part of the extended management team.

Leading a highly skilled team team with the following accountabilities:

- Manage the Material Supply processes of Supplier Management, Buying & Internal Customer Satisfaction
- Develop Supplier relationships.
- Manage the acquisition and disposal of aircraft material to meet financial objectives and budgets.
- Store and distribute aircraft material on behalf of British Airways, worldwide distribution and storage of products.
- Maintain a high level of stock accuracy, monitor and provide performance statistics
- Use planning information and systems to effectively forecast and communicate BAIE load and material requirements, develop business scenario planning tools.
- Provide all relevant measures required for BAIE MBR and Board meetings.
- Manage the planning, commercial and programme processes objectives and budgets.

- Highly skilled in data analysis and interpretation of data.
- Good understanding of budgetary controls and of regulatory and industry requirements.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Project leadership skills with strengths in communicating a vision and defining clear accountability boundaries.
- The ability to demonstrate an innovative approach.
- Work well under pressure and respond in a timely manner to requests for data or analysis.
- Ability to prioritise and demonstrate good time management skills.
- You can work with engineering and document management systems.
- Experience in an aviation environment is desirable but not essential.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above, including English and Maths, HNC/HND or Degree level is desirable.
- 2 years’ experience of working at an MRO or similar environment desirable.
- Experience of working the SAP system (or equivalent)
