Recruit to Train Camhs Ipt-a Practitioner

Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

As a Recruit To Train CAMHS IPT-A Practitioner you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team offering assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people with common mental health disorders. Alongside this you will be studying at Manchester University working towards accreditation in Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents, an evidence based and NICE recommended treatment for child and adolescent depression. The programme is part of the national Children and Young People - Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) project and has gained validation by IPT-UK. It is a part-time multi-disciplinary programme (one day a week teaching and one and a half days spent in clinical practice and supervision) across three 10-week terms, commencing in January 2023.

You will be working as an IPT-A practitioner within one of the CAMHS community teams for the duration of the one year course and would split your time between training and carrying out clinical work. The successful applicants will work within CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality, outcome informed, focused and evidence-based interventions for children and young people in accordance with the competency framework for their therapeutic modality. Please note in this instance the course is not optional; there will be a joint interview process including Manchester University to appoint to this role. The roles are dependent on meeting all course requirements.

You will receive weekly supervision in the workplace and with the university. All applicants will need to be available to start the training in January 2023. Applicants must be willing to travel to Manchester University. Applicants must be willing to travel.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
