The role of the Specialist Practitioner will include working with young people with increased complexity in one to one and group work, as an early intervention. There will also be opportunity to develop the whole school approach and provide advice, guidance and support to staff in education. The schools included in this project will have a designated Mental Health Lead, who can refer directly into the service additional referral can be from young people or their families..

We work closely alongside these staff as we support them in creating a whole school approach to mental health. You will work with a variety of agencies to ensure a quality service is provided. You will work alongside more junior members of the team, to deliver parent, well-being and 1:1 sessions. You must be a Registered Nurse, Dip SW or equivalent social work qualification (CSS, CQSW, degree in social work), or Allied Health Professional registered with the HCPC.

You must also have experience of working therapeutically with children, young people and families where there are emotional difficulties within a CAMHS service. It is preferable if you have experience of working in this capacity within schools. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made as required in line with the Equality Act 2010. The MHST cover the county of Nottinghamshire and have bases across the county, the main base for the team is at Highbury Hospital, Nottingham, NG6 9DR.
