**About the business**:
Would you like to take on a new role as a Trainee Print Assistant for a unique business which specialises in manufacturing and distributing a wide range of packaging solutions. This company operate within three divisions, which are Building Products, Performance Packaging, and Bulk Packaging. If you would like to take on a role at a Trainee Print Assistant and eventually become a Flexographic Printer, this is you moment.

**Day to day duties of a Trainee Print Assistant**:
To assist in the preparation and running of Printing Machines to produce High Quality Flexo Print on a range of flexible packaging substrates. To plan and progress preparation of Print cylinders, plates, inks & materials to all presses work according to the agreed running order in a timely and efficient manner having regard to minimising materials and working in a safe manner and working environment. Objective is to increase the level of service to our customers whilst keeping costs in line with or better than budget.

**Responsibilities of a Trainee Print Assistant**:

- To observe safe working practices within the area of responsibility and ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained / improved.
- Train dept. personnel where required to maximise their effectiveness in carrying out their tasks.
- Assist the Printer in Ensuring efficient and consistent target running speeds are met together with well-planned job changes, make ready and stereo mount / removal and sleeve return.
- Identifying and promptly resolving and /or reporting any equipment malfunction, material, safety, and or quality issues.
- Manage films / inks / plate’s inventory and other materials in an efficient manner minimising waste and maximising re-use where quality requirements can be met.
- Preparation of Cylinders/Gearing, Stereos & Mounting, Inks, and film.
- To be proactive in offering ideas for continuously improving the efficiency and quality of the process.
- Communicate information with all relevant personnel.
- At times will help in other departments

**Competencies of a Trainee Print Assistant**
- Self-motivated with an ability to work on their own.
- An excellent communicator together with organizational and analytical skill
- Ideally experienced in the operation of Flexographic Printing Presses together with plate mounting and inks mixing / colour matching techniques
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
