**The Role**:
Adult Community Learning (ACL) is Essex County Council’s provider of lifelong learning experiences for Essex residents. One key area of focus is increasing learning and apprenticeship opportunities within the early years sector.

The Business and Marketing Apprentice will focus on supporting our Early Years project and engagement team at ACL. You will be responsible for supporting our Officers in all aspects of administration. This will include the opportunity to attend events with the Employer Engagement Officers to promote courses and apprenticeships.

**About You**:

- Ideally you will be educated to Grade C/4 in maths and English.
- Experience in a working environment is helpful, but not essential.
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate that you are enthusiastic, personable and willing to learn.
- An understanding of the importance of good customer service.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Good telephone management and organisational skills.
- Good phone manner is needed along with a friendly approach.
- An excellent eye for detail.
- A "can do" attitude is a must.

**Essential Requirements for the role**:

- Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English (or equivalent), which is a Grade D/E or 2/3 to begin the apprenticeship.
- Ability to reach a Level 2 Functional Skills in both Maths & English by the End Point Assessment (EPA), if you do not already have this.
- Have the right to work and study in England.
- Have been ordinarily resident in the UK or EEA for three years before the apprenticeship start date.

**What will you be doing?**

This role will focus on supporting the Project Lead and Employer Engagement team with all aspects of administration to include:

- Maintain information in databases and spreadsheets with up-to-date relevant information, maintaining good attention to detail.
- Create reports as and when required.
- Provide support with various aspects of early years course and apprenticeship marketing. This could include social media posts, creating flyers and posters, talking to employers or applicants on the phone and writing case studies
- Adding vacancies onto the apprenticeship website.
- Assist the Project Lead with reports and general administration tasks.
- Attend events with the Employer Engagement Officers to promote opportunities in Early Years.
- Carry out other relevant tasks as identified.
