In your role as Associated Director of finance you will provide strong, clear and strategic leadership to the financial governance function of the Board, inspiring excellence in others and delivering high quality services across the organisation.

The Associate Director of Finance - Governance and Financial Accounting will be responsible for the leadership and management of the financial accounting function for the Board. Leading the interpretation of Scottish Government and national and international financial guidance and is the Board’s lead officer on all technical accounting issues. Working with the Deputy Director of Finance, Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors to produce the governance statement and the supporting evidence required to complete this.

Professional accountancy body (CCAB), with extensive senior financial management experience, preferably within a NHS or equivalent large, complex organisation is essential, as are excellent communication, planning and IT skills. Extensive experience in providing impartial detailed finance advice and information to multi-disciplinary clinical and other management teams, obtaining engagement and ensuring key financial concepts and issues are clearly understood. The ability to work proactively and use your initiative to deliver to strict timelines while managing multiple demands is essential.

Expert knowledge of accounting concepts, policies and the requirements of the NHS financial regime as well as the legislative framework within which it operates.
