Part-Time: 22.5 hours per week (inc. some evenings)

**Salary**: £25,796 full time equivalent (pro-rata)

Actual: £15,477

Location: Bedford

Autism Bedfordshire is an independent charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of autistic people and their families by providing impactful services across the county and surrounding areas.

This fantastic new role will work closely with a knowledgeable and devoted charity whose mission is to ensure that every autistic person in Bedfordshire can lead a fulfilling and rewarding life.

To be successful in the role, you will have previous experience in providing benefits advice, have experience of managing complex cases and supporting people though appeals procedures and mandatory reconsiderations.

Key Responsibilities:

- To report to the Adult Services Manager on the activities of the project
- To have an up to date working knowledge of Benefits
- To answer and deal with telephone, written or face to face enquiries from members and stakeholders, as appropriate, providing explanations and clarification of decisions and actions taken and general advice and guidance relating to legislation, policy and procedures
- To support our membership with carrying out benefits checks and completing forms
- To run benefits workshops
- To create and maintain accurate records and reports of the work undertaken.
- To promote Autism Bedfordshire’s services
- To represent Autism Bedfordshire at stakeholder meetings
- To be up to date in the understanding and implementation of Autism Bedfordshire’s policies and procedures
- Independently managing their workload and competing priorities

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £15,477.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
