We are the Local Care Organisation (LCO) - an exciting, new public sector organisation that is bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester and Trafford by working across organisational boundaries.
The first health and social care staff have been deployed to us from April 2018 and are now starting to work in new ways across the city. Our teams work as one in the neighbourhoods they serve - delivering and designing services in partnership with local people. We also provide key services that work across wider localities and city-wide.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management accounts officer to join the LCO finance team.
The post holder will be responsible for producing reports for the review of transactions, investigating transactions, and contributing to costing projects.
You should have excellent communication skills as you will have to impart information that may be sensitive or difficult to understand.
You must be able to manage your own workload and have a proven ability in the use of spreadsheet packages including the ability to design spreadsheet models.
This is an excellent position from which to gain experience of partnership working across the NHS, Adult Social Care and the Voluntary sector.
Communicate with all staff groups within the finance function. The post holder will be required to communicate with and maintain effective working relationships with staff from all disciplines, providing and receiving complex and confidential financial information.
Produce information relating to the Directorate budgets and provide advice to the appropriate budget holders.
Work within a customer focused culture with a particular emphasis on providing clear and timely information to non-finance managers.
Responsible for accounting entries relevant to the production of budget statements are accurate, e.g. recharges, establishment changes, corrective journals, error suspense, reporting hierarchies, financial codes, and links etc.
Responsible for ensuring that all expenditure relevant to any external organisation is identified and recharged in an accurate and timely manner.
Plan own work to ensure deadlines are met.

There is currently Government consultation underway which will determine whether some new employees may need to be vaccinated.
