**Job Description - Cover Supervisor**

**Purpose of the Role**: To provide cover for classes during periods of teacher absence. Using materials prepared by teachers, supervise the learning of students in classrooms. Provide general support to teachers in classrooms and administrative staff as and when required.

**Salary Range**:Band TL2 £22,913.00 to £31,012.00 FTE (Actual Pro
- rata)

**Working Hours**: 37.5 Hours - Term Time + INSET

**Main Activities of the Role**
- Supervising classes in the short term absence of teachers to deliver work prepared by teachers.
- Ensuring that students get full opportunities to learn when covering lessons for absent staff.
- Promoting Learning of all Students in classrooms and within the academy as a whole.
- For personal development, cover supervisors will be linked to named curriculum areas for training and practice to increase their skill set and knowledge including schemes of work and departmental practice.
- Providing a high quality cover service for absent colleagues across all areas of the academy.
- Actively using the Academy protocols for managing behaviour in classrooms and around the academy.
- Contributing to the life of the academy including the delivery of enrichment sessions as necessary.
- Supporting the administration and finance functions in the main office during times when no cover is required, processing orders, supporting front of house for dinner/meeting cover, supporting with the collation of whole school communications.
- Working around school in support of Pastoral function when not covering teaching classes.
- All staff are expected to keep up to date with safeguarding legislation and requirements and work to ensure the safety of students at all times.
- Stockport Academy delivers Character Education through the Future Me framework and staff must purposefully model the behaviors expected by the school ethos and actively act as role models to students. Staff should use the language of values as part of their conversations in delivery of their roles, in lessons and around school as part of the coordinated character programme.
- Any other duties which are appropriate to the post which the Principal or other Manager may direct.

**Salary**: £22,913.00-£31,012.00 per year
