**Children’s Residential Care Worker**

To provide support to young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties

**Location**
- Davenport / Heaton Moor

**Hours**
- 37.5 hours per week

**Salary**
- £21,283.00 annual salary

**In addition to this basic salary, you can also earn £87.50 per each sleep in and an additional 25% enhancement for all weekend hours worked.**
- 2 yearly salary increments.
- 27 days annual leave rising to 30 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years plus bank holidays.

- Continuous professional development - Enrolled for QCF level 3 after 6 months probation

**Main Responsibilities**
- As a Residential Support Worker you’ll work as part of a residential care team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.
- You’ll work on your own initiative and as part of a team. In your role as Residential Support Worker you will support children/ young people to explore and develop their individuality and overcome early years trauma.
- You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the children and young people as individuals.
- You will be expected to key work children and young people.
- You’ll plan fun activities for you and the children/ young people to participate in.
- You’ll need to transport children/ young people to school, meetings and activities. A clean driving licence that has been held for more than 12 months is desirable.

**About the service**

Our services offers short to long term placements designed to help children/young people recover from their early life experiences and prepare them for their futures whether that is rehabilitation to their own family, a placement with a foster family, alternative provision or the transition to independence and adulthood.

Our ethos is to and create an environment of predictability and responsiveness to need in a homely setting, The staff team work hard to build strong and healthy relationships with the young people and pride themselves on their level of commitment and consistency of care.
