**Events and Engagement Coordinator -** Scunthorpe**

**Salary: from £23K - £24K 37 hours Monday to Saturday**

**The Company**:
Our client are a charity who are led by people who are endlessly enthusiastic about learning. They believe everyone has the opportunity to learn and feel confident in their abilities and feel like part of the community. They recruit trainees from all backgroundswho need that helping hand. They are now looking for a Events and Engagement Coordinator to join the team.

**The Role**:
The role will be to represent the company onsite and in the community and you will be responsible for organising and delivering events and projects in support of the charity’s aims. As well as being able to project plan and manage all events, it is expectedthat you will be self-sufficient in communications, including activities such as digital and social media ensuring excellent representation and engagement.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Delivering safe, friendly and informative activities which help to build relationships with the community, schools, commercial partners and other relevant organisations
- Responsible for planning and co-ordinating all their events in the community that support their bike projects
- Managing all event resources and sourcing event kit plus driving, loading and unloading their van
- You will also be required to undertake dynamic risk assessments of event sites and ensure that all relevant paperwork is complete and up-to-date
- You will be required to liaise with partner agencies to plan joint activity
- Establishing and supporting Bike Donation Stations
- Selling cycles to the public at their retail outlets and at relevant events
- Supporting volunteers and trainees in related roles
- As part of community management, you will be required to support their social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, replying to comments and enquiries as appropriate
- You will support in non-event related marketing activities working with the senior manager responsible for marketing, third party marketing partners, and external marketing and media support
- Any other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably request

**Essential Skills & Requirements**:

- Good understanding of all social media platforms
- Good understanding of event co-ordination
- Understanding of Health and Safety
- Basic knowledge of cycles and cycling
- Experience of co-ordinating events
- Experience of working in face-to-face customer service
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Enthusiasm for helping disadvantaged individuals and communities
- Enthusiasm for supporting a better environment through cycling
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Self-sufficient and motivated
- Approachable and the ability to get along with other people
- Energetic
- Organised and a good planner
