**About FC Civils Solutions**
This project has been awarded to the new Ferrovial Construction affiliate, **FC Civils Solutions Ltd,** which has recently been established to deliver subcontracts across major UK infrastructure schemes.
The **Edgcote viaduct** will be 515m-long and will carry the railway across the floodplain of the River Cherwell, south of Chipping Warden. At between six and eight meters high, the viaduct will be supported by 20 pairs of concrete piers and from a distance, will be largely hidden by existing hedgerows and woodland.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Set personal example and promote best practice in safety, quality and environment.
- Supervision of sub-contractors
- Able to read drawings and construct to them, work to a program and keep written (and preferably electronic) records.
- Communicate with all site team including engineers, QS's, safety officers and clerk of works to ensure full understanding of information.
- Monitor and control labor, plant and materials.
- Ensure daily diaries and allocation sheets are up to date.
- Implement and promote safe systems of work over all activities.
- Contribute to the program through line manager.
- Work with engineers on setting out information and details of technical information, contributing to the preparation of method statements.
- Attend and contribute to weekly meetings with site team regarding safety, progress, expenditure, costs and program.
- Ensure toolbox talks, safety alerts and method statement briefings are carried out.
- Ensure all statutory weekly or daily inspections are carried out e.g. weekly safety and environment tours.
- Assist development of the workforce and identify training requirements.
- Ensure high standard of quality on the works to at least meet the specification requirements.
- Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
