Mansion Assistant

As a Mansion Assistant, you’ll be working as part of a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections to museum accreditation standards. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You’ll keep accurate records too.

Attend, monitor, and assist activities in the Mansion whilst maintaining these standards. Open and secure facilities as required, acting as a keyholder, and where necessary undertake responsibility for the security of the Mansion acting as Duty Supervisor in the absence of the Mansion & Collections Manager and Mansion Supervisor.

In this visitor facing role, you will talk to visitors about the work you’re doing, and the collections, to provide excellent standards of visitor care, assist with access and ensure an enjoyable and quality experience for Mansion visitors and users, whilst maintaining a very high standard of collection conservation, presentation, upkeep, cleanliness, safety, and security

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Mansion Team at Tatton Park. You will undertake preventative conservation of this internationally and nationally important National Trust collection whilst providing excellent standards of visitor care and presentation to ensure an enjoyable and quality experience for Mansion visitors and users. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear.

The 18th C Neo-classical Mansion is at the heart of the beautiful Tatton Park estate, you will be part of the team caring for this busy multifaceted award Visitor Attraction

We'd love to hear from you if you have.
- A keen interest in history, historic properties and conservation of their collections.
- A good understanding of preventive conservation.
- Knowledge of the approach required when working with fragile historic collections as well as Health & Safety and emergency procedures.
- Good manual dexterity and eye-to-hand skills and ability to work from ladders and tower scaffold.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and are a great team player.
