Working a pivotal role as part of our mansion and collections team, you will supervise the day to day opening of the house and presentation of the collection to visitors.

Working a rota across 7 days you will supervise and participate in preventative conservation cleaning with the Mansion Team.

You will be responsible for managing the routine and deep cleaning programmes, including environmental control, monitoring and mitigating deterioration, maintaining collection equipment and materials.

You will help ensure collections management practice meets agreed standards to maintain Museum Accreditation in line with National Trust collection care procedures.


You will supervise, support, and organise the team of Room Stewards and mansion volunteers, to ensure the history of the house, its collection and conservation work is shared with visitors and assist in providing excellent standards of visitor care, access, engagement and enjoyment.


The 18th C Neo-classical Mansion is at the heart of the beautiful Tatton Park estate, you will be part of the team caring for this busy multifaceted award-winning visitor attraction.

This National Trust collection contains over 15,000 items with internationally significant collections of paintings and books, as well as nationally significant collections of ceramics, furniture and an important world cultural ethnographic collection.

Our experienced mansion team thrive in our busy operational environment working to high levels of collection care not only for day to day opening but during events such as filming and Christmas opening, whilst also striving to continually improve visitor engagement and access with new exhibitions and interpretation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help develop and care for one of the nation's most unique collections.

Working in close collaboration with the Mansion & Collection Manager(s), you'll be key in delivering all aspects of the visitor operation at the House, ensuring appropriate resources are in place to provide a safe and consistently exceptional service for our visitors.

You'll help to develop innovative ways of engaging our visitors with our fascinating history and celebrating our work to care for the collections

You'll be responsible for:
Supervising and participating in preventive conservation and cleaning within the house: caring for one of the largest, significant and fascinating collections in the National Trust

Leading the team to manage the opening of the house on a daily basis

Supervising a team of Mansion Assistants, Seasonal Room Steward and Mansion Volunteers


Bringing your heritage-sector experience to implement preventive conservation, delivery of our deep cleaning programme, and an excellent standard of interpretation and presentation.
