These posts are essential has Caretaking staff keep the blocks, estates and neighbourhoods clean and safe and contribute to the City’s cleaner, greener commitment to its residents. As a landlord we have a legal obligation towards cleaning and maintenance within multi storey blocks for which tenants pay a service charge.
You will manage a team of Estate Caretakers and will be tasked with providing a cleaning service to all high rise and low rise blocks within Central/North Birmingham. There is a strong emphasis on Fire Safety and keeping the blocks in a good state of repair.
Some basic building knowledge would be an advantage but training will be provided on all aspects of the role.
The City Council operates tipper vehicles to collect fly tip waste from housing land and you may be asked on occasions to drive this vehicle and therefore you must hold a full driving license.
