**About Us**:
**Role Overview**:
Our service at **Parsifal Road** is a newly commissioned and innovative specialist supported accommodation service for young people with mental health and complex needs. The service is part of **Camden **Council’s Young People’s Pathway that collaborate intensively with CAMHS, the 16+ team, the YOS and other services working to support the young people.
As **Mental Health Support Worker**, you will part of the team responsible for effective and safe running of the project on a day to day basis including undertaking a key work role for individual young people as part of a multi-agency team and supporting volunteers and social work students undertaking placements at the service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide support to young people in line with their support plans and contribute to the development and review of these plans.
- Work positively with all residents to win their trust and respect, and deal with difficult or problematic situations in a professional and self aware manner.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement at the project, in the community and in Depaul UK.
- Support the Senior Project Workers throughout their shifts.
- Share responsibility for supervising and supporting volunteers.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment and maintain high standards within the project. This includes the cleaning and preparation of rooms for new residents.
- Participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other events as necessary.
**What We Are Looking For - Person Specification**:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people.
- Experience of working in a residential care or support setting (desirable)
- A relevant professional qualification, although not essential for this post would be desirable for example in social work, mental health, criminal justice, youth and community or education. (desirable)
- Knowledge/understanding of the issues formerly homeless young people and care leavers with multiple needs face in their transitions towards independence.
- Understanding of young peoples’ support needs and how they might be best met in partnership with public and third sector services.
