**Post Title**: Professional Lead Midwifery and Lead Midwife Education (LME)**SBU/Department**: School of Health and Social Work, Department of Allied Health Professions, Midwifery and Social Work**FTE**: 1 FTE (Working 37 hours per week) Part time may be considered**Duration of Contract**: Permanent**Salary**: UH9 £53,535 per annum (pro rata if part time chosen) to £63,673 per annum (pro rata if part time chosen) by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience**Location**: College Lane Campus- An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Professional Lead in Midwifery / Lead Midwife Education (LME) within the Department of Allied Health Professions, Midwifery and Social Work. We currently offer a BSc (Hons) Midwifery pre-registration programme, a MSc / Bsc (Hons) shortened programme for applicants who already hold a nursing qualification and a post-graduate MSc in Midwifery and Women’s Health. **Main duties and responsibilities**- You will be expected to convene and chair meetings, identify staffing needs, advise on the utilization of resources related to teaching and research, assist the Head of the Department and deputise when required, carry out appraisals of staff within the Subject group, manage any budgets assigned, manage and maintain high standards of safety for staff and integrate health and safety into the Subject group role.- You will be required to liaise with your professional body, regulator, and other stakeholders as appropriate, you will advise on strategic development in your profession, and ensure that staff maintain their registration with the appropriate regulator. You will work closely with the Associate Deans and Programme Leads to ensure that any contractual requirements are adhered to.- You will provide leadership on all matters relating to midwifery education, facilitate the exchange of information and good practice on all issues and provide advice to the NMC midwifery committee through the LME Strategic Reference Group, on all matters relating to midwifery education.- You will be the primary source of reference, opinion and advice on all matters concerning midwifery education and professional development within the Department of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery, the wider School and beyond and between key stakeholders.**Skills and experience required**
- Previous management and leadership experience are essential. You will have a sound knowledge of research and experience in developing innovative ways of delivering our curricula relevant to contemporary Midwifery practice.- You will have experience in partnership working with key stakeholders, commissioners, provider organisations as well as service users and carers and require experience in the higher education sector and its political, national and international context.**Qualifications required**
- You will be required to have a BSc in a midwifery degree or equivalent qualification, a Masters Degree or equivalent, an experienced midwife registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a Fellowship of Advance Higher Education.- It would be advantageous to hold a Doctorate, or you may be working towards completion of a doctoral programme.**Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)**
