**Head of Intermediaries**

**Location: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)**

The West Brom are looking to recruit a Head of Intermediaries to lead our Intermediary Sales Team. The post holder will be required to lead, develop, coach and motivate the Intermediary Sales Team to achieve the Society objectives and targets through maximising sales and relationship opportunities. Responsibility for strategic planning input, key partner relationships and the implementation and continuous development of the strategic plan and approach.

This role will require national travel and may on occasion require the post holder to have overnight stays

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The introduced mortgage advances target in terms of volume, quality, product mix, LTV, etc., the marketing & distribution of all the Society’s mainstream product groups/sectors involved in residential mortgage lending, and non-mainstream product sectors (such as Buy to Let) as and when launched.
- To ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements and the Intermediary Governance Framework, ensuring that policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Represent the intermediary channel at society Committee meetings as required.
- Provide day to day management of the Intermediary Sales Team, including coaching, business decisions, budgets, Intermediary sales issues and achievement of team objectives. Ensuring that all staff are appropriately experienced to carry out their roles
- Ensure that new registrations and existing relationships are developed to maximise the opportunity and also increase multiple submitters of quality business
- Key Partner relationships, building strong and productive new and existing working relationships with senior level contacts in the intermediary mortgage market.
- To propose new Key Partner relationships negotiate and on board, in line with the Governance Framework
- To ensure Key Partners are kept fully informed about our criteria, product ranges, services and changes to terms and conditions
- To work effectively with the field sales team and head office sales & support team, facilitating sharing of best practice to maximise results

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- An extensive understanding of the financial services sector, ideally with experience in the intermediary mortgage market
- A high specialist knowledge of the Intermediary market and how this operates, and also requires a full understanding of the competitor market
- A high degree of analytical skills to enable the role holder to fully research all aspects of the Intermediary market utilising such tools as competitor websites, strategic mortgage publications and an understanding of the relevant trade bodies (IMLA, AMI, CML etc
- Good understanding of the strategic drivers underpinning the UK financial services market across a broad product base, specifically intermediary mortgage distribution. The role holder must keep this knowledge up to date and will be expected to undertake ongoing personal development to maintain awareness
- Proven sales management and business development track record in the business to business sector at all levels
- Sound understanding of the legal and legislative framework that influences the Financial Services sector
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills, capable of communicating and persuading to a high level, both internally and externally, up to and including Executive
- Full CeMAP qualification
