**Location: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)**

The job holder must also ensure that the FCA's Mortgage Conduct of Business are complied with and CML Guidance Practice notes are followed. Plus, the jobholder will ensure that they are familiar with all relevant regulatory requirements and that all requirements are adhered to at all times. Additionally, they will ensure that they understand the risks associated with all tasks within the Mortgage Department and ensure that all risks and controls are managed effectively, identifying and escalating any gaps identified.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and manage daily team workflow to adhere to team SLA’s.
- Day to day operational management of the Processing Team with the ability to demonstrate the ability to manage team and personal workloads.
- Obtain and maintain mortgage mandate in accordance with agreed levels of competency.
- Ensure offers are produced correctly with regards to product clauses, sub account splits and valuation issues.
- Provide a high quality customer focussed service with mínimal complaints.
- Continually ensure that all agreed targets are met or exceeded.
- Ensure that all offers of mortgage are correct as issuing documentation containing errors will not only necessitate a revised offer of mortgage being issued, it will also present a poor image of the Society to our various customers (solicitors, intermediaries and customers alike) thus potentially damaging our reputation within these circles which could ultimately lead to a reduction in business placed with us.
- Ensure that the Rules and Guidance within the FCA’s Mortgage Conduct of Business (MCOB), are complied with.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- Ideally 3 years team leader experience and 3 years mortgage experience
- Experience of managing a team
- Extensive knowledge of the Lending policy including the ability make decisions based on an assessment of risk and policy.
- Abilty to be empathy towards customers
- High standard of attention to details, personal motivation and initiative
- Good level of PC skills, including Word and Excel
- Must hold an existing or previous mortgage underwriting mandate
- Ability to display leadership and people development skills
- A good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements
