Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for a general Administrator to cover a 6 month contract on behalf of our Public Sector client.

The Role:

- To undertake a range of administrative functions including the maintenance of computer records, answering the telephone, scanning and filing in an effective and efficient manner, if necessary, developing and maintaining effective administration systems to meet the needs of the service
- Deal with routine enquiries from members of the public, staff from other organisations, ensuring that enquiries are accurately recorded and responded to appropriately.
- Writing orders for goods and services and preparing invoices for payment
- Allother ad-hoc admin tasks as required.

Skills Required:

- Must have proven administrative and clerical skills and the ability to comply with financial and administrative procedures.
- Ability to record details with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to deal with customers with due consideration to customer care requirements.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in person, over the telephone and in writing.

**Experience**:

- Familiarity with Windows, Word, Excel and other databases.
- Experience in local government administration and dealing with members of the public would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Environmental protection Act the work of Environmental Health would be an advantage.

Hours: Normal office hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Pay Rate: £13.79 per hour
