Charity - Supporter Engagement Officer

Inclusive consulting are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic charity based in Dorset and Somerset who are now in the position of looking for a Supporter engagement officer to join their established team.
The charity are a well-loved and respected organisation in the local area, and are able to provide their service due to the generosity of the public and support of their many volunteers, who help to deliver fundraising activities.
They are now looking to hire a highly motivated and enthusiastic Supporter Engagement officer to work with their volunteers and who will be responsible for maintain and developing strong relationships with local communities, groups, businesses and individuals who support fundraising through of events or donations.
We are keen to speak to people who have worked in a similar role previously, have exceptional communication skills and who enjoy the challenge of building relationships within a community.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Be an ambassador for the charity within the community, helping to raise awareness and maximising income -generating opportunities.
- Provide exceptionally high-quality care to ensure that volunteers and supporters feel valued and appreciated.
- Uphold and be able to articulate an excellent level of knowledge about all aspects of the charity
- Manage a team of volunteers across Somerset, including recruiting, training, providing equipment and supporting them in their roles
- Work closely with the wider fundraising team, helping to develop and deliver fundraising initiatives.
- Oversee the servicing and management of collection boxes across Somerset, liaising with the fundraising officers and finance team.
- Present talks about the charity and be a confident and engaging public speaker.
- Liaise, manage and represent the charity at events, presentations and donation collections.
- Provide on call support for our events volunteers, including out-of-office hours.
- Keep accurate records of all events, supporters, communications and fundraising activities on our CRM system.
Person Specification
- An understanding of community fundraising would be advantageous, along with experience of working with volunteers.
- Strong communication skills
- A history of forming strong long-lasting relationships.
- A willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Full clean UK Driving license.
**Requirements for the role**
- GCSEs Grade C or above or equivalent in Maths and English
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in similar role
On offer is a competitive salary of c £30,000 (depending on experience), flexible working, 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, generous pension scheme and wider benefits package.
