**Job description**:

- This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with businesses across the UK to support the delivery BEIS agenda.
- The Central Grants and Loans (CGL) Team exists at the cutting edge of BEIS priorities, providing a centralised grant delivery function for the department. The CGL team currently manages the delivery of 24 different schemes, representing in excess of £200bn of investments across a broad range of policy areas including the development of electric vehicles and battery technology, increasing the UK's medicines manufacturing capacity and capability, development of future vaccines, supporting HMG's Net Zero ambitions and many more.
- The Team is acknowledged across Whitehall as being a centre of excellence, providing a joined up and agile approach to supporting businesses and is crucial to ensure BEIS continues to meet its objectives.
- This role sits within the CGL finance team, providing an exciting opportunity to support the wider team in delivering an excellent service through Compliance, Performance Management, Management Information and Payments. We are looking for someone with outstanding Compliance, Performance Management and Management Information skills and a strong track record of success to support the Team in CGL

As part of this role, you will be responsible for ensuring grant schemes are operating in a compliant manner, suppliers purchase orders and payments are processed in a timely manner and providing performance management for the CGL team, working with other teams where required.

In addition, implementation and delivery of the enhanced CGL programme management information system to ensure data is gathered and reported accurately. Assist with the preparation of draft financial returns, both ad hoc and annually. Assist with the appropriate closure of all legacy schemes within the CGL Portfolio. Oversee the secretariat role for meetings, ensuring that the required papers have been checked and are consistent with information held. Ensure management information is updated to make sure accurate information is available on all relevant cases; maintaining comprehensive and accurate SharePoint files to demonstrate an appropriate audit trail.
