**Responsibilities**
- Drive the strategy of Compliance Monitoring for Data Protection risks
- Lead and deliver the group's Compliance Risk Assessment and Monitoring Plan focused on data protection process and controls to manage associated risks
- Challenge key stakeholders in Certified Senior Management Functions (SMFs) and Senior Leaders on the results of monitoring
- SME oversight and guidance to key stakeholder including SMFs within HL Group to address identified deficiencies
- Responsible for identification of opportunities and ability to problem solve, enabling the team to continuously improve the Groups monitoring processes
- Designing and producing management information and engaging with stakeholders on this
- Member relevant Committee meetings or forums to report on the progress of the plan, the results of monitoring activities, the status of open and overdue management actions and provide necessary escalations
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior managers across the first, second and third Lines of Defense

**Skills and experience**
- Extensive experience in risk and compliance roles in a relevant FS sector
- Subject Matter Expert in Data Protection including GDPR
- Relevant governance, risk management and control expertise
- Relevant knowledge of the regulatory environment
- Relevant professional qualifications
- Stakeholder management and engagement
- Understanding and experience of the three-lines of defense
- The ability to communicate issues and challenge effectively
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of FS products and markets; of UK and European financial services regulation and policy environment and regulatory processes; excellent communication skills to explain / interact / engage / influence with and betweenstakeholders (internal and external)
