Our group of settings currently have seven sites graded Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. The group is acquisitional and will be looking to expand the portfolio of nurseries as and when suitable opportunities arise. We have high expectations from all our members of staff and are striving to achieve ‘Outstanding’ across all nurseries at the next inspection. We also want to deliver good financial performance from each setting.
**Hours **:Full Time Contract
**Pay Grade**:Salary around £38,500 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
**Location**:This role will be based working across all nursery settings. You will use your extensive skills, knowledge and experience to inspire the management teams and lead staff practice to engage and motivate children. You will be expected to travel across all sites, which are all based within a 20-minute drive of North Manchester.

**Liaising with**:Ofsted Inspectors, Early Years Development Officers, EHO Inspectors, Health & Safety Inspectors, Doctors, Health Visitors, other Childcare Professionals and external agencies
The support area manager will support the operations Director in the continuing development progress of all nurseries to achieve outstanding. They will oversee and lead managers and staff at each nursery to ensure they deliver of all the Company’s objectives and goals. They will work to support the teams across the Nurseries, acting as a positive role model and working with the children and staff to deliver good and outstanding teaching and learning practice within the setting. The Operations Manager will work against the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Early Years Inspection Framework at all times to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge all children.
**Primary Purpose**
- Support the directors and managers in the continuing development and progress of all nurseries to Outstanding.
- Oversee and lead managers and staff at each nursery to ensure the delivery of all the Company’s objectives and goals.
- Work across all nursery sites, to ensure all agreed Company quality and safety standards are maintained and provide support where necessary.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Maintain an up to date understanding of what Ofsted are focusing on and to ensure compliance with the regulatory body at all times.
- To ensure SEND standards are promoted, implemented and having an impact on the outcomes of children.
- To quality improve teaching and learning outcome for all children
- To offer support and assistance to the other team members
**AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

- To support the directors, managers, teaching and learning managers, Early Years Teachers and Room Leaders in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with registration and legislative requirements at all times.
- To uphold and ensure a high standard of care and learning.
- To maintain the company’s Equality policy ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued, and practice is positive and non-discriminatory.
- To monitor any safeguarding issues following nursery and local authority procedures.
- Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum good grade is awarded.
- To demonstrate an awareness of the requirements set by Ofsted ensuring that the nursery conforms to and exceeds them.
- To ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.

- To ensure that all staff are aware of their areas of responsibility and to be able to clearly demonstrate an awareness of own areas of responsibility and how these are being met.
- To communicate effectively with members of their team and be professional at all times.
- To support the Directors and Managers in the development of the Nursery Development Plan and Ofsted Self Evaluation form; ensuring these are kept up to date and all staff are aware of them.
- Identify those whose practice does not comply with organisational and legal requirements, liaise with Manager and individuals to agree an action plan and take steps to resolve issues through mentoring, support and development.
- Manage own time to complete tasks effectively, prioritising workload and delegating tasks (where appropriate) to team. Monitor and evaluate progress of delegated tasks, providing constructive feedback.
