**What impact can I make?**

We believe in making impact and we are looking for an inspirational and experienced **Financial Crime Risk Lead **with purpose, drive and the ambition to lead the Society on financial crime risk management.

Providing second line of defence control and oversight for the Society, you will work with a variety of teams to understand current and emerging risks, threats and trends and recommend solutions that protect against fraud or money laundering. Working on financial crime prevention strategies and sharing knowledge to support business change, monitoring risk factors through effective analytics, root cause analysis and industry engagement.

This is a role which requires an understanding of both the FCA and PRA and financial crime risk management.

Here is a snapshot of just some of the areas of focus and responsibility for the role:

- The Financial Crime Risk Lead will be responsible for evolving our capability to deal with the increasing sophisticated threat of financial crime. Facilitating the ongoing evolution, implementation and maintenance of the financial crime framework and anti-money laundering controls.
- Responsible for undertaking the Society wide financial crime risk assessment across its product range and servicing procedures. Identifying suspicious activities and vulnerabilities, recommending areas for improvement and creating and implementing controls to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with all business areas to promote and develop a financial crime aware culture creating tools, training, and awareness relevant to the Society’s risk.
- Responsible for the creation and ongoing maintenance of Financial Crime Policies and Procedures ensuring these anticipate and respond to emerging and existing threats.

**Skills and experience**:

- At least 3 years working in a Financial Crime/AML Related role in an FCA-regulated firm especially in regulated mortgage lending and deposit taking.
- In depth understanding of UK AML, KYC, Sanctions and/or Fraud regulatory environment.
- Strategic thinking that helps blend external regulatory requirements with internal business needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to explain complex topic/ideas in understandable terms to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to use initiative in order to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency creation.
- Capable of problem solving and analysing situations, delivering practical and compliant financial crime controls/solutions.
- Strong numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- ICA Certificate in Financial Crime Prevention (or equivalent)
