We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Goods in and Buildings Assistant to join a small facilities team supporting the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology in Oxford.

You will support the work of the Kennedy Facilities and Laboratory Manager to help maintain the building and services required to ensure the effective and smooth running of the Institute.

You will be responsible for receiving, checking and receipting all deliveries to the Institute, as well as distribution of items to users and dispatch of equipment and samples. Your role will be essential to the coordination and management of a broad range of services and related tasks required to ensure the effective and smooth running of the Institute as a whole; this will include providing cross cover for the glass washing section. Full training will be given in the use and maintenance of equipment.

You will be educated to at least GCSE standard (or equivalent or above) with good communication and computer skills and previous experience of working in a laboratory environment. You will be able to cooperate with colleagues, prioritise work using own initiative, work independently with minimum supervision, and also seek and follow advice when appropriate. A good level of physical fitness is also essential. Experience with a computerised ordering system, building repair and maintenance, manual handling and Health and Safety issues are desirable.

This is a full time, permanent position.
