Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting for a Physician Associate based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a Physician Associate to join our expanding MDT and to work within our innovative and supportive primary care network in the borough of Harrow.

You will participate in all aspects of patient care and be responsible for the provision of clinical service working as part of the multidisciplinary practice team. The physician associate will be required to work (autonomously) in GP practices, providing a range of services such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment, telephone triage, clinical decision-making and referring patients appropriately.
You will be responsible for the provision of care proportionate to the needs of the patient, acting within your scope of practice under GP supervision. This will include clinical assessment and care management, receiving patients as they present with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, offering advice, treatment or referral as appropriate.
You will provide advice for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. The post holder will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care including assessment and diagnostic skills.
You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients.
You will be working as part of an allied healthcare professional team.

**On a typical day you will**:
Work as part of the primary care network team, the post holder will work across the PCN GP practices.
The post holder will provide advice for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
The post holder will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care including assessment and diagnostic skills for patients being treated.
The post holder will:
Work as part of an extended MDT under the supervision of a named GP
Deliver clinical triage by telephone and carry out video consultations
Have direct contact with patients as appropriate, taking medical histories, carrying out physical examinations, updating records.
Make diagnoses, analyse test results and deliver treatment
Work to a professional code of ethics
Provide varied support and show flexibility in your role
Show a caring attitude towards patients

**What will you need to succeed in this role?**
Certification of passing the PA National Examination
Member of the Faculty of Physician Associates at the RCP
A postgraduate degree in Physician Associate Studies from an accredited PA programme

Experience of working in a medicine environment, including preventative medicine and chronic disease management
Experience of working within a primary care environment
Experience of seeing, assessing and treating acutely unwell people presenting in primary care

Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
Access to own transport and ability to travel across the locality on a regular basis, including to visit people in their own home
