We are looking for an assistant practitioner to work as part of our new highly skilled and passionate team delivering a Stop Smoking Service, operating at both Harefield and Royal Brompton Hospitals to support our patients from their inpatient admission through to beyond discharge.

Full training for all roles will be provided becoming a NCSCT Stop Smoking Practitioner will be provided along with a programme of continued professional development. This post is primarily based at Harefield Hospital but post holders may be asked to cover Royal Brompton site on occasions using the shuttle bus between sites.

Training opportunities are encouraged in the support of this post in order to enhance your skills and achieve your competencies. Team-work, good IT skills and excellent communication skills are vital for this role.

In conjunction with other members of the smoking cessation multi-professional team you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to a wide cohort of patients including offering education in both an inpatient and outpatient setting in smoking cessation services. Our services includes face to face and virtual interactions with a wide range of patients to include heart failure, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support devices.

You will be required to work closely with your MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with an opportunity to engage in service development and evaluation.
