37 hours per week (term time only) temporary post for 2 years.

Come and join our fabulous team in the Early Years and Childcare service at Rotherham Council.

We have an exciting opportunity available; we are looking to appoint a Senior Early Years and Childcare Inclusion Officer. The post holder will work across the borough with early years settings and schools.

The post holder will lead, promote and develop effective early years provision for children with complex special educational needs. They will work across the borough with early years settings and schools. They will have the skills and experience to work with providers to ensure children with complex needs access inclusive provision.

The post holder will offer targeted support and challenge to settings and schools to ensure children with complex SEND needs receive a seamless transition and reduce delays in accessing F2 provision.

The post holder will co-ordinate the new Inclusion Support Grant Tier 3 process including chairing panel meetings; supporting early identification and planning of needs through co-ordination of child level data provided from various professionals, including Health data identifying needs at the earliest opportunity.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting providers to implement a range of interventions, strategies, and support measures to ensure the children’s complex needs are being fully met.

The post holder will develop and deliver a range of early years SEND training to providers

The role is outreach and will work across the borough giving direct support and challenge to providers.

They will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding on all aspects of early years SEND and will need to maintain this throughout the role.

The post holder will need knowledge, understanding and experience of all aspects of SEND legislation and assessment procedures.

Some occasional and evening work will be required.
