We are looking for an enthusiastic well motivated individual to join the DHU safeguarding team as a Safeguarding Associate Practitioner. The postholder will work within both Childrens and Adults safeguarding arena, ensuring that vulnerable children and adults at risk engaging with DHU are identified and safeguarded. This is a part-time role, 28 hours per week, based in Oldbury.

The post includes a variety of activities including preparing and delivering training to DHU staff, assisting the Child and Adult Safeguarding leads in meeting the corporate safeguarding responsibilities, in addition to undertaking audit, quality assurance, report writing etc. They will be required to liaise with Social Care and Child Health Services and other organisations and support staff in DHU with safeguarding issues.

The DHU safeguarding team forms part of the overall corporate governance structure and covers all contracts held by DHU which adds to the interest and variety of the role.

**Main duties of the job**
- To work closely with and support the Lead Nurses for Safeguarding Children and Adults. Have a key role in developing and embedding safeguarding knowledge and good professional practice within all sections of the organisation.
- Work autonomously as well as part of a team within the organisational setting to provide a service across all divisions which safeguards and promotes the wellbeing of children and adults at risk.
- To deliver training to all levels of staff employed by DHU.
- Assist in the supporting of staff involved in safeguarding processes.
- To oversee the safeguarding referrals generated within DHU Healthcare and their follow up with any resulting actions required.
- To assist in generating audits and reports for development and monitoring purposes within DHU Healthcare and for Commissioners and Quality Assurance Frameworks as required.
- To assist in the development and updating of policies and ensure these are implemented, disseminated and followed within DHU Healthcare.
- To review and complete any safeguarding Datix incidents, enquiries and reviews relating to NHS111 in the West Midlands.
