Housing Options Support Worker

For this job role, you will be responsible for contacting and visiting service users who are housed in emergency accommodation to support with finding alternative accommodation in the private rented sector.

**This role is fixed term until 31 March 2025 with the option for extension based on performance**

**In this job role you will**:

- Carry out interventions & assessment to identify service user needs
- Provide advice & information in areas such as housing options, welfare benefits etc.
- Assist the service user to access statutory and non-statutory services
- Advise on how best to secure and maintain accommodation
- Accompany service users to relevant appointments e.g. property viewings when necessary
- Deliver on outcome based targets

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- A good working knowledge of housing legislation, benefit entitlement and welfare reform
- Significant experience of providing information, advice & guidance to members of the public in a complex environment
- Experience of motivational interviewing or similar techniques
- A demonstrable customer-focused attitude
- The ability to communicate effectively

- Performance Related Pay (PRP) - up to 10% of salary
