Estates and Facilities Auditor

The role covers the audit function within the Estates & Facilities Division and as such will involve working across a range of Estates, Facilities and Property services. As an Estates & Facilities Auditor, you will be responsible for the delivery of work to a number of Estates and Facilities departments within Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Facilities, you will enjoy considerable autonomy and responsibility for the delivery of internal Estates and Facilities audit services across a carried and interesting range of areas. In doing so you will have wide exposure to key managers and directors, as well as the processes, structures and activities of the departments you work within such as ISO Standards quality delivery, national cleaning standards, Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE), Premises Assurance Model (PAM) mission critical maintenance delivery, capital, programmes and general Estates and Facilities governance.
In line with Estates and Facilities quality manual, you will develop and deliver the strategic an annual internal audit plans for the each of the Estates and Facilities departments. You will liaise with managers, senior managers and directors within the division to develop and agree the scope of the audit work and the required reporting of outcomes covering risks issues and opportunities and alignment with our declared operating model.
You will also be required to attend at pre-audit and feedback meetings with the relevant department head and the divisional Quality Manager.

1. To audit and report upon the status of the Estates and Facilities department standard operating procedures (SOP) in line with the ISO9001 quality management system and the divisional quality manual. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the divisional quality manager in order to achieve an audit ready status.
2. Ensuring through effective audit techniques that the divisional SOP (standard operating procedures align with the physical service delivery and deviations from the quality manual are declared and SOP’s updated as necessary
3. Supporting the quality manager to develop and deliver the annual Estates and Facilities Audit plan in line with divisional quality manual.
4. Contributing to the development of the department strategic, audit plan
5. Attending pre-audit scoping meetings with Estates and Facilities Management teams
6. Undertaking research, to develop scoping documents for discussion and approval with the Estates and Facilities Quality Manager
7. Being the lead auditor for a range of complex internal audit assignments across the estates facilities and property portfolio. NB: This will include all stages of the reviews including planning and prioritising work, testing, analysis and reporting of information and commenting on required policy and/or procedural improvements as and when required.
8. Delivering audit assignments at a number of Trust-wide locations and settings, focussing on the E&F delivery: A significant proportion of the Estates & Facilities audits will take place within patient care settings.
9. Writing high quality audit reports to a standard that can be presented at all levels within the Trust with each report summarising key findings and making recommendations for improvements to procedures, governance, risk and control systems within the estates and facilities division.
10. Attending feedback meetings and report discussion meetings with senior managers in order to highlight the significance of the audit findings and make recommendations for improvements.
11. The post holder will develop a 12 month audit schedule in conjunction with the department quality manager.
